To create and grow formal supportive mentoring relationships amongst BPW Calgary members that will make a positive impact in professional and personal lives of both the mentors and protégées.

Description

The BPW Calgary Mentorship Program is available to BPW members who are interested in developing and strengthening their leadership skills, advancing their careers and expanding their network. Every October, applications are accepted and protégées are matched with a mentor who meets their goals. Mentors are professional and business women working in a broad range of industries and occupations, have a variety of life experiences and enjoy giving back to the community. Program design includes one-on-one mentorship, leadership workshops, roundtables, and community outreach activities. BPW dinner meetings provide valuable opportunities for networking and learning with speaker topics such as women empowerment, work-life fulfilment, social media, talent management, financial planning and professional leadership. Many life-long relationship grow from this experience. In 2010 the mentorship program was nominated for the Institute of Canadian Citizenship Best Practices Award.
