Young BPW Collaboration with NAPTIP

Young BPW Collaboration with NAPTIP (National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking In Persons)

To educate students in secondary schools in Abuja about child abuse, child trafficking, and the Violence Against Persons Prohibition Act.

Description

In an effort to ensure the protection of children and to educate them about the resources available to them, Young BPW Abuja members collaborated with NAPTIP to sensitise students in three secondary schools within the Abuja metropolis. Young BPW Abuja members organised with the leadership of the schools and NAPTIP, and selected appropriate times for the visits to the schools. The NAPTIP officials gave discussions about the different types of child abuse, and informed the students about necessary actions to take if they find themselves or anyone they know in any of the situations. The students were also educated about how to avoid kidnapping, and whom to report any form of abuse.
